Zachary Bornstein

In February 2005, Zachary competed at the AAU Indoor Track & Field Championships in Merryville , Indiana .  Zachary became the National Indoor Champion in several events by winning the 400 Meter, 800 Meter, 1500 Meter and placed second in the Indoor Triathlon (200 Meter, High Jump & Shot Put).

 

This past season Zachary was again undefeated running for United Track Club in the Valley Conference meets in the 400 Meter, 800 Meter and 1500 Meter.  He broke club records in the 400 Meter, 800 Meter and 1500 Meter, some of which had existed for over 20 years. 

 

In June 2005, Zachary competed at the USATF Nationals in Knoxville , Tennessee .  He won Outdoor National Championships in the 800 Meter and Triathlon and placed 2nd in the 1500 Meter and the 4x400 Meter relay.  At the Junior Olympics in Indianapolis he placed third in the Triathlon and his team placed third in the 4x400 relay event.

 

Zachary ran for the Valley Striders and placed third at the AAU National Cross Country Championships in South Carolina on December 3rd leading his team to a National Championship.   A week later he ran at the USATF Cross Country championships where he led his team the Irvine Cougars to a second place finish competing while he was sick and in bed two days prior to the event.
